National Institutes of Natural Sciences is a foundational institution for graduate education at the Graduate University for Advanced Studies, at National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, an astronomical science major at the Graduate School of Physical Sciences, and at the nuclear science major at the Graduate School of Physical Sciences at National Institute for Fusion Science. However, the Department of Basic Biology at the Graduate School of Life Science at National Institute for Basic Biology, the Department of Physiology at the Graduate School at National Institute for Physiological Sciences, and the Department of Structural Molecular Science at the Graduate School of Physical Science at Institute for Molecular Science Each has a functional molecular science major. The instructor who belongs to each research institute is, for example, Institute for Molecular Science Professor, and at the same time, it becomes a comprehensive research graduate university Professor, and carries out research activities of the research institute and I am also in graduate school education.

About Integrated Research Graduate University

Aiming to cultivate international and creative researchers with a broad perspective and to cultivate and promote creative academic research that transcends traditional academic fields by utilizing Inter-university Research Institute like this organization Was established in 1988 as the first graduate university in Japan.

Training young researchers

In addition to support for postgraduate education at the Graduate University for Advanced Studies and a special joint researcher system that accepts graduate students in response to requests from national, public and private universities, as well as support for postgraduate education through the collaborative postgraduate system, We hold numerous seminars and workshops for young researchers who belong to them, and contribute to the development of young researchers.

International training course

Picture 1 of the International Training CourseSince fiscal 2006, the International Practical Course has been held at the National Institute for Basic Biology . The institute has held a short-term intensive course called "Bioscience Training Course" for the last 20 years, where students learn the latest experimental techniques for young researchers who are graduate students or older. The program has been developed into a new international program that also targets young researchers from abroad.
Picture 2 of the International Training CourseIn the 1st International Practical Training Course (15th-24th January 2007), young researchers focused on the Asian region under the theme of "Developmental Genetics of Zebrafish and Medaka" For graduates and graduate students, teaching and practical training of cutting-edge research techniques and knowledge were conducted, with researchers at inside and outside the Institute at Lecturer. There are three times the application for this course, and among them, 10 excellent students and young researchers suitable for the advanced training level of the course were selected. All the programs were conducted in English, and the practical training was conducted in the new laboratory dedicated to the training.

On the other hand, for the organizers as well, they realized that the level of research and education in Asian countries has improved more than expected, and the course felt a sense of response.
The knowledge and skills acquired by the participants through this course will be brought back to their institutions, and it is expected that they will bring great results in the advancement of research technology, promotion of research collaboration with Japan, and the development of a network of young researchers. .
