A paper, which was the result of a two-year collaboration between Assistant Professor Jared E. Toettcher (Dept. Mol. Biol., Princeton U.) and Professor Kazuhiro Aoki (ExCELLS, NIBB), titled "A self-exciting point process to study multicellular spatial signaling patterns" was published in Proceeding of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America. In this study, we propose a statistical modeling framework, the cellular point process (CPP), which allows to decouple autonomous and coupled signaling such as signaling from neighboring cells.
